After a pretty quiet year on the hotel front in Cape Town, click I was excited to hear that there’s a posh new property at long last! I scoped out the new Marly Hotel at the opening party at its beautiful Umi restaurant earlier this week.
It’s at a prime spot on Camps Bay, and meaning the views are stellar. The whole setting is very South Beach, Miami — a place to see, be seen, and party.
I’ve been hearing for awhile that the best coffee in Cape Town is at Origin, so I had to see for myself. While I’m not enough of a connoisseur to confirm that assertion, I can vouch that my mocha was very yummy indeed.
The whole city is decked out in Christmas cheer, from the streets…
To the Taj Cape Town. But I must say, it’s hard to feel Christmassy when it’s 80 degrees, sunny, and no one is singing Christmas carols!
A busy weekend was topped off with a delicious ice cream waffle at The Creamery. When I said I’d be here all summer, I wasn’t kidding!
Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates, and happy-day-off to those of you who don’t!
