Amuse: Block Parties, Beaches, and Braai in Cape Town

Saveur is one of my favorite magazines — they do such a great job of covering food and travel in a lush, health system literary way — and I wrote this 10-page feature on Durban’s Indian food for its Origins issue, about it on stands now. The issue dives into the history of beloved food staples, generic from vanilla to soy sauce to the Reuben sandwich, and the tagline to my “Eating Bunny Chow in Durban” is “How South Africa Got Its Indian Accent.” I’m also taken by the photography, by David Crookes and Nicola Jackson. Find it in the September-October issue, or read it here.

Another week, troche
another Cape Town guide – this one for UK lifestyle site Amuse. Check out that gorgeous picture of Table Mountain! Read it here.
